Meyer Sound 500-HP compact subwoofer
Meyer Sound 500-HP is the compact high-power subwoofer retained in Meyer Sound’s official legacy documentation. The manufacturer identifies it as a self-powered model. Its low-frequency role is distinct from the full-range loudspeakers in a reinforcement system, so it should be considered as part of the complete system design.
The self-powered design contains its own amplification. That changes the power and signal arrangement compared with a passive subwoofer requiring an external amplifier. It does not remove the need to plan the actual audio feeds, mains distribution and placement.
Low-frequency deployment and a complete system
A useful subwoofer comparison starts with the intended listening area and the required low-frequency contribution. Cabinet placement, the relationship to the main loudspeakers and the system settings all influence the result. A model name alone cannot establish the response in a particular venue.
Meyer Sound’s legacy page provides a 500-HP-specific resource archive. Use those original documents when making a detailed technical comparison rather than importing figures from a current Meyer Sound low-frequency product. A related professional role does not make two models identical.
An addition to an existing 500-HP inventory
For a fleet already using 500-HP, retain the exact model in the equipment and configuration records. The loudspeaker, the proposed deployment and any physical mounting arrangement need to be considered together. Optional rigging and transport equipment illustrated in manufacturer material is not established as part of this sale.
The product is listed at an individual unit price. The available count describes the stock of subwoofers, not the number of components bundled at that price.
