Robe Tarrantula LED moving head
Robe Tarrantula is an LED wash, beam and effects moving head. Robe specifies 36 RGBW 40 W emitters around a central RGBW 60 W emitter and a 4–50° zoom. The emitter array supports individual-pixel work, while the central Multi-Coloured Flower Effect provides a different way to create movement within the light.
A broad wash and a tighter beam are different creative roles. The zoom lets the designer assess both from the intended fixture position. For a wash, coverage and color may be the priority; for a beam or effects look, the arrangement of visible light and its movement may become more prominent.
Pixels, color and the central flower effect
The RGBW source arrangement makes the fixture face part of its visual vocabulary. Individual-pixel programming can create a visible pattern across the array, while the central effect adds rotating multicolored spikes. These are distinct from moving the entire head across a scene. A deliberate design can select one form of motion or combine them with a clear purpose.
For a programmer, it is useful to separate position, zoom, color, intensity and pixel effects into different decisions. A cue does not need to change every function at the same time. Holding one part of the composition steady can make a chosen movement or texture more readable.
Choosing a control mode for the design
The official Tarrantula manual covers DMX, Ethernet operation, remotely controlled functions and the control menu. Select the exact fixture personality and mode for the required level of pixel and effects access. The correct reference is Tarrantula, rather than a different Robe LED wash with a similar array.
The manual describes options and accessories as well as the fixture itself. Those references support a system plan but do not establish an accessory package for the offered stock. The named item here is the Tarrantula fixture.
