Martin Audio DX0.5 is a legacy two-input, six-output system controller for passive and powered PA systems. Its processing combines equalisation, crossover functions, delay and dynamics in a 1U chassis. Martin Audio identifies the model separately from the newer DX0.4 and DX0.6 controllers.

Each input has five bands of parametric or shelving equalisation, and each output has seven bands together with high- and low-pass filtering, delay, polarity inversion and limiting. The DX0.5 uses 24-bit conversion at a 48 kHz sample rate. Local front-panel editing and a USB computer connection provide alternative ways to configure the unit.

DX0.5: input and output processing as separate tasks

The DX0.5’s two balanced inputs and six balanced outputs support a loudspeaker-management role. Input equalization and output equalization serve different positions in that signal flow. The documented five input bands and seven output bands give adjustment resources at each side; they are not a recommendation to use every band in a configuration.

For system planning, start by identifying which signal must reach each output. Frequency division, level and timing can then be considered against the actual connected equipment. This is more useful than choosing a processor only by the number of EQ controls.

The 24-bit, 48 kHz conversion specification identifies the model’s digital operating basis. It does not make its settings interchangeable with another processor. Similarly, 24 user memories describe configuration storage, not the existence of a verified preset for a particular loudspeaker system.
