JBL VRX918

JBL VRX918

JBL VRX918 subwoofer family

JBL VRX918 is the abbreviated designation supplied for this stock. JBL documents both VRX918S and VRX918SP subwoofers. These are 18-inch, front-loaded vented subwoofer models in the VRX family, but they differ in amplification and system connections. The full suffix on the offered unit is important.

Passive and powered versions

VRX918S is the passive model, while VRX918SP is the powered version. That distinction affects whether the cabinet takes loudspeaker-level power from an external amplifier or a line-level audio feed with its own mains connection. A buyer matching an existing system should establish the suffix before choosing amplification or cabling.

Low-frequency role

A subwoofer handles the low-frequency part of the PA, allowing the rest of the system to be planned around the required audience coverage and source material. For these cabinets, the exact operating bandwidth and rated output should be read from the correct variant’s documentation. Power ratings from a passive loudspeaker and an integrated amplifier describe different things and should not be compared as if they were the same specification.

Deployment and quantity

The VRX documentation describes product-specific mounting and array arrangements. That does not establish a suitable configuration, permitted array size or included hardware for a particular used unit. This listing names the cabinet stock only. Twelve available units are twelve units at the stated individual price, not a twelve-cabinet package.

Configuration note

The title remains JBL VRX918. No S or SP suffix, amplifier rating or included rigging component has been assumed. Confirmation of the full model label is needed to finalise the electrical and mechanical details of this offered stock.
