Martin Audio CDD-LIVE 12 powered loudspeaker
Martin Audio CDD-LIVE 12 is a compact powered two-way loudspeaker using Coaxial Differential Dispersion technology. A 12-inch low-frequency driver shares a coaxial arrangement with a 1-inch-exit high-frequency compression driver. Onboard Class D amplification and DSP make it a self-powered model, distinct from a passive cabinet that needs separate amplification.
The manufacturer documents Dante audio networking alongside analogue signal connections. The signal format and the control arrangement are separate planning choices: a network-capable cabinet still needs the intended audio route and settings.
Differential coverage and driver orientation
Martin Audio describes a pattern that changes from 110° to 60° horizontally, with 60° vertical coverage. This is not simply one fixed horizontal-angle claim. The user-rotatable coaxial driver allows the coverage orientation to be considered for the actual cabinet position.
For a designer, the relevant question is how that pattern fits the audience area. A near listening area and a farther one may impose different coverage needs. Placement and orientation should be evaluated together rather than selected only by driver diameter.
Processing and the intended application
The official page describes local preset selection and VU-NET control. Processing can serve different system tasks, including the balance appropriate to the cabinet’s role. A stored setting is not automatically correct for a different deployment, so the intended use should guide configuration.
The multi-angle plywood enclosure is documented for professional portable and installation uses. An IP24 version with a rain cowl is an option; the supplied inventory does not identify that version. No optional weather-protection package or mounting accessory is inferred.
Condition and unit price
